In true testament to how accustomed we are to winning, I'm finding it difficult to know what to say after we were (narrowly) beaten on Saturday. We are spoiled GITS and definitely not used to not getting our own way.

However as we all know, its not the winning that counts, its the taking part and we certainly took part. We had a great day in the sunshine, squinting at the scoreboard (apparently these days you need sunglasses in October!) and getting told off for not being loud enough!!! Am now going to browse the interweb for megaphones and other such equipment as used in riots and times of widespread panic to make sure this does not happen again! You can say whatever you want about us..but do not question the power of our vocal chords!

In addition I would like to add that any disappointment of Saturdays defeat was washed away by the televisual triumph that was 'How to look good naked' on Tuesday night! Watch out world, BRFC are taking over! And they are doing it in their pants!

BAD GIT

E-mail Print

Hello Everyone.

Apologies for my tardiness in submitting an article this season, I am a Bad Git! The GITS are all doing well and maintaining their invaluable presence within the shed on saturday afternoons at Finstall Park. Well done to the lads for their great performance so far and here's to a great 09/10 to come.

Please check back for future fun, games and shameful goings on after this weekends game. What happens at Finstall Park...STAYS at Finstall Park!

Over and out

Being a GIT is hazardous to your health

Saturday 14th March was the most fun you can have inside a small wooden structure!

The lunch was lovely, the sun was shining and we stumbled around our shed armed with pints of guinness and the biggest sunglasses money can buy! After much discussion regarding the oppositions thighs and the best way to get mud out of white shorts, our usual chants of 'GET HIM' and 'RUN!, RUN LIKE THE WIND' could be heard across the pitch. I was told at one point that I had perforated somebodys ear drum - I apologise but thats one of the risks you take if you choose to stand too close.

The game was rather exciting and included a ten minute period of nail biting, shot drinking tension where we thought we might not actually win ('AS IF' I hear you cry!), however the team pulled it back in spectacular fashion and we were once again able to fall out of our shed looking forward to a victory celebration.

And what a celebration it was! I ended up sustaining injuries that any prop forward would have been proud of after a fight between my 6 inch stilettos and a flight of stairs - see my facebook profile for pictoral evidence! I apologise if there are any spelling mistakes but I am on enough painkillers to immobilise a small horse! Being a GIT is a tough job but somebody's got to do it! See you next time dudes.

Look Out GITS about!

First of all - Well Done to all the team involved in the fantastic win over Burton on Saturday - I was there in spirit if not in person! Although we were a few Gits short at Burton - you all did us proud!

Anyway, after a poor showing for the past few matches you will all be pleased to know that Mama Git, Charlotte Wellington has organised the Ladies table to end all Ladies tables for this coming saturday when the GITS will be 24 strong! Charlotte has given us all strict instructions to be on our baddest, loudest behaviour and we are not the sorts to let her down. Those of you hoping for a relaxing and peaceful saturday are advised to stay indoors and watch a bit of telly, although if you live within a 5 mile radius you should be able to hear the cheers from your front room anyway!

Roll on Saturday! Good luck Bromsgrove!

FINALLY......

E-mail Print

May I offer my sincerest apologies to you all, we have not been very good at keeping our page updated this year and this is is not a reflection of our efforts in the shed, which have been excellent.!  However, I now have my very own login (WOOP WOOP) and will be able to write on here all the time (seriously - lots of long hours at work that need filling up!).

We are all really proud of the team this year for giving us good reason to shout and holler and more importantly celebrate afterwards! Well Done Boys!

The next appearance of the GITS in full form will be on the 14th March following Mama GITs lunch, so bring ear plugs or medication if you are of a nervous disposition - its gonna be a big one.

I believe we are also organising a coach trip to Burton to support out boys further afield and obviously Burtons Club Bar - we all need to do our bit for the credit crunch.

Finally, I just want to say Bon Voyage to Sophie Wellington and Holly Anne Hudson who are leaving on a three month world adventure -THE GITS GO GLOBAL - and will not be back til next season. We're gonna miss you and the Shed will be a quieter place without you girlies!

Until the next time dudes, ROCK ON!
